ADC Production

ADC Production is an arm of our business which concentrates on the HSE and Inspection requirements of the world’s many production platforms.

As founder members of the DROPS Forum, our aim is to make safer working operations and HSE targets achievable, particularly on ageing units as their life expectancy is extended.

Our team of highly skilled and experienced engineers regularly carry out platform inspections to ensure all areas are safe from the dangers of Dropped Objects, particularly corrosion and redundant item hazards, as well as the many other areas for HSE focus.

The resulting dropped objects survey and location equipment inventory will determine the installation’s potential for dropped objects and will assist in developing the inventory for the management system, with particular emphasis on:

  • Primary and secondary fastenings
  • Status of removal of redundant equipment from the assessment areas
  • Management of temporary equipment fixed in the assessment area, such as flare stacks, communication masts and drilling derricks.
  • Management of temporary or loose equipment - such as hand tools and paint pots - carried into the assessment area
  • Review of the knowledge and understanding of the requirements by personnel required to work in or around the assessment areas of the Dropped Object Management Programme
  • Assessment of small pad eyes, on fittings such as lighting supports, for age integrity
  • Assessment of all outside equipment for protection from accidental crane damage
  • Review of historical records on all dropped objects incidents to ensure corrective action has been implemented to prevent re-occurrence and that design review on corrective action has been properly risk assessed and documented

The items itdentified in the survey would be removed or repaired as required, with the agreement of the platform management.

Having carried out DROPS Surveys for many years on drilling units, our ADC Production Team are focused on identifying the risks and bringing their extensive knowledge of dropped objects prevention to ensuring that the installation’s dropped object management procedures are effective.

The aim of these surveys is to determine the current condition and state of maintenance of the platform’s equipment, thus ensuring safety and efficiency targets are met and maintained.
