In response to numerous client requests, including Lloyds Register and DNV in 1996, we prepared our first well examination scheme from first principles to provide 3rd party well examination services as an independent competent body, which complies with the present UK legislation.
In accordance with the UK offshore Installation and Wells (Design and Construction, etc) Regulations SI 1996/913 DCR, the main duties introduced by the wells provisions are: -
- To ensure that a well is so designed, modified, commissioned, constructed, equipped, operated, maintained, suspended and abandoned that the risks are as low as reasonably practicable.
To facilitate this legislative requirement, ADC independent, competent engineers are trained to: -
- Identify and justify all safety critical elements of a well.
- Write the schemes of examination to comply with legislation.
- Execute the examination with Independent competent engineers.
- Monitor operations as per the scheme.
- Confirm the BOD, programme and operation are harmonised
- Interface with the verification management system.
- Monitor the management of change as it is proposed.
- Document and manage the process.
